What is Monpera? 
Monpera is the Monument to the People's Struggle of Palembang city which depicts the struggle of heroes in achieving past glory and as a forum to continue to maintain and preserve the noble values ​​of the struggle for Indonesian nationalism.

When was Monpera built?
It started on August 17, 1975, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the monument. Construction of the monument was completed in 1988, which was later inaugurated by Alamsyah Ratu Prawiranegara (Menkokesra at the time) under the name Monument of People's Struggle (Monpera).

Who had the initiative to build Ampera?
To commemorate the event, the elders of the independence fighters of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in the South Sumatra region who are members of the Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) took the initiative to build a memorial to the struggle for independence in Palembang.

Why was Monpera built?
The government built Monpera to appreciate the role of nation soldiers during such a war.

How much the entrance fee?
To enter Monpera, visitors will be charged an entrance ticket of Rp. 1,000 for students, Rp. 2,000 for students, Rp. 5,000 for domestic tourists, and Rp. 20,000 for foreign tourists.

How does Monpera look like?
Physically, monuments are in the form of jasmine flowers. It represents the purity of the soldier. There are nine different ways to monuments. Finally, it is a holy number. Locals consider 9 to be a symbol of unity or harmony. Another name is "Batan Harisen Erosion". Another unique part is the size of the Montpellier. It is 17 meters high and has 8 levels and 45 lanes. Each number represents the country's Independence Day, which is  August 17, 1945. Elephant fangs may be visible as visitors pass through the main gate of the monument. Made of sand and cement. This ivory represents the spirit of Sumatran. Ivory is reminiscent of an elephant. It symbolizes the endless spirit of the locals.
